Mamma Mia!
I saw Mamma Mia last weekend, and I’m not sure what I thought of it. I didn’t hate it. But I didn’t love it either.
I loved the music, of course. Much to DH’s dismay, I enjoyed the music so much I was inspired to dig out my ABBA Gold CD. And I loved Colin Firth. Though to be fair, the man could stand and read the telephone book for two hours and I’d be thoroughly entertained.
That said, was I the only one who thought Pierce Brosnan looked a touch uncomfortable belting out the ABBA? He seemed kind of angry when he sang. Or maybe it was me not being able to get past the idea of James Bond belting out the ABBA. Very possible.
I think I’ll need watch it again on DVD before I decide if I liked it or not.
Music: What is This Love - Blue Rodeo
Mood: Good

We’ve debated seeing this. I’ve heard mixed reivews. Will wait till it comes to Netflix, I think…lol. Poor Peirce..he got hammered in reviews….
August 15th, 2008 at 5:14 pmI thought about watching it but will leave it for DVD. I did grown up listening to ABBA so it’ll be nice to sing along.
August 16th, 2008 at 4:16 amI heard Pierce got horrid reviews (just on the singing part). I find that the previews make me not want to see it, even though I love musicals and like ABBA. Something about Meryl Streep singing and dancing around just isn’t working for me. Perhaps I’ll come over when you rent the DVD??
August 18th, 2008 at 3:47 pmI haven’t seen it and I’m not sure I want to: there’s a squick factor involved. Having seen coming attractions, it looks like Pierce might have been better off keeping his lack of vocal talent limited to his own shower!
