Catching Up–Again

Wow, it’s been a long time since I last posted. I’ve been busy, but I’ve also been a little apathetic to writing in general. I’m not sure if this somehow connected with my decision to get a day job or if it’s just a general sense of the blahs.

I find my character development with Blood and Bone to be incredibly weak. I’m mid way through my WIP and I’ve turned the hero into a big, huge wimp. I don’t know why the hell my heroine would want to have anything to do with him ’cause I sure wouldn’t. And that agent who requested a full of Witch turned rejected me yesterday.

On the upside, I have a request for a partial from my dream agent, and I haven’t heard anything from the publisher who has Living Lies. No news is good news, and it allows me to cling to my delusions a little longer. :-)

That said, I need to give myself a kick in the arse and remember why I wanted to do this in the first place. I think I will take today and try to rediscover the balance between writing the creative outlet and writing the business

Dawn, I feel you. I started on the first chapter of my new WIP and can’t seem to get beyond it. After three rejections (MUD query), I’m feeling rather out of it. Chin up. And yes, no news is good news…my motto too.

I like your character. He’s not a wimp at all. You got rid of the “flagrant park loser” or something like that, and that was enough to make him likeable. Chin up, dear girl! Keep writing while you wait, it’s marvelous for the psyche.
