Catching Up–Again

December 5, 2006 | Writing

Wow, it’s been a long time since I last posted. I’ve been busy, but I’ve also been a little apathetic to writing in general. I’m not sure if this somehow connected with my decision to get a day job or if it’s just a general sense of the blahs.

I find my character development with Blood and Bone to be incredibly weak. I’m mid way through my WIP and I’ve turned the hero into a big, huge wimp. I don’t know why the hell my heroine would want to have anything to do with him ’cause I sure wouldn’t. And that agent who requested a full of Witch turned rejected me yesterday.

On the upside, I have a request for a partial from my dream agent, and I haven’t heard anything from the publisher who has Living Lies. No news is good news, and it allows me to cling to my delusions a little longer. :-)

That said, I need to give myself a kick in the arse and remember why I wanted to do this in the first place. I think I will take today and try to rediscover the balance between writing the creative outlet and writing the business
